This Bean is popular in New England and the Northeast and is primarily used as a green shell bean. Plant is a bush type, 18-20 inches tall, branching with short runners in later stages of growth. Pods are oval, 5-7 inches long, stringy, bright green maturing to chamois color splashed with carmine.
For best crop, keep free of weeds. To prevent spread of disease, do not hoe when wet. For highest quality and yield pick pods frequently. For dried use allow pods to mature and change color. Make successive plantings every 2-3 weeks until mid-summer.
