Parsley Hamburg or Turnip Rooted
While the top growth of this is used for flavoring and garnished, this variety forms a fleshy parsnip like root 5 to 6 inches long which is highly valued for the rich delicious flavor it imparts to soups, stews, etc. The roots may be left in the ground all winter and are not affected by freezing.
Rich in vitamin B. Leaves may also by dried. Makes an attractive border and lends itself well to container growth.
